Beyond the Horizon: The Joy of eternal hope in Christ

"Life is full of unplanned events", this phrase makes more sense as we grow older. We may have heard others say, or may even have experienced it ourselves, that everything in life may at times seem to be going in the opposite way of what we desire or would've wished for. Most of the times we desperately want things to happen according to our desire and plan of what seems perfect for us, but when it doesn't, we tend to blame fate, question God's plan and start losing hope and target God for everything. But the Bible says-

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

This statement affirms that God is not the reason for bad or unexpected happenings in our lives rather those may be from the devil, our wrong decisions, some mistakes or anything else, but you know the most encouraging realisation is that an all powerful loving God is there to make them alright. He says-

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55: 8&9

God is always in control of what's happening in our life, if we have surrendered it to Him, as all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28. The question that lies here is, Do you love God? Have you surrendered your life to Him? Even before we knew about the grave consequences of sin and death God so loved us that he came for us. Jesus Christ died for our sins on that cross of calvary, rose again the third day and have assured the gift of eternal life to everyone who put their trust in Him. He is coming soon! The God who has secured us the eternal future, won't He take care of things in our short life here on earth? He will take care for sure!

Now, the same God who has promised eternal life is the one who have also said this-

Even to your old age and gray hairs; I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will carry you. Isaiah 46:4

Abundantly wonderful right! Our loving creator has said this, the one who made us assures of sustaining and carrying us even till old age or till our life on this earth comes to an end. This blessed hope assures  that no matter what happens God is always with us, we are not alone. When we face troubles, suffering or other obstacle this hope starts to crumble, the possibility of seeing light through the long and winding tunnel is by faith and patience in God.

Take for example Daniel and his friends, they were taken captive to a strange country, were separated from their family and were forced to work for the foreign king. Instead of blaming God for the tragedy, they prayed, humbled themselves and kept their trust in God and surrendered themselves completely. God used them as a light and great witness among the people of Babylon, so much that many kings themselves came to know about the living God, rest being history of how brilliant and wise they were.

The same God is now with us and has a unique plan and purpose for each one of us. He has a reason for allowing things to happen, we may not understand His wisdom but simply have to trust His will. Never compare your life with others, because-

Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. Jeremiah 17:7

May these words encourage and ignite your hope in Christ, beyond the horizon that we may spend our life joyfully, by being a source of happiness and blessing to those around us.

Have a great week ahead!
