Patience - A great virtue

" The end of something is better than it's beginning. Patience is better than pride." Eccl 7:8

Patience denotes the ability to accept delay and tolerate trouble or suffering with good attitude, that is without being upset or angry.

Now, this is something easy to say and hardest to practice, yet a significant virtue needed in our life.

We can think of numerous instances from our life where if at all we had been patient things would have turned out differently.

For example - during trivial fights, the hurtful and harsh words we say out of anger to sometimes even to our beloved ones, taking thoughtless decisions on various matters which turn out really stupid in the end, and lots of other occasions where our impatience makes a complete mess of our life.  How can we practice patience in our life?

"Better to be patient than powerful, better to have self control than to conquer a city." Proverbs 16:32

This verse from the Bible shows the significance that patience holds in the sight of God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is patient with us. Just imagine what if for all our sinful actions then and there we were to receive punishment, will we be able to bear it? Certainly not. The Bible says-

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come for repentance." 2 Peter 3:8

Yes, Jesus Christ is so much patient with us, He wants everyone to repent of their sins and turn to God.  We may never know when the day of His second coming will be but the present happenings of the world are enough to convince us that He is coming really soon. Have you accepted Him in your life? If not, then, This is the day!

The Lord is good to those who hope in Him, to the one who seeks Him. It is good to wait quietly for deliverance from the Lord. Lamentations 3:25,26

The above verse is an encouragement to all who are discouraged with the happening in their lives, when we just don't understand why things are delaying. We tend to worry and get upset. This above verse reassures us that it will eventually turn out good if we patiently wait for the Lord. As written -

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Rom 8:28

An assurance that we will never be ashamed if we wait for the Lord, because He is good and faithful, will surely lead our way even if unexpected things happen He is there to make everything right and give us a much better outcome.

So, with this affirmation let us continue and move ahead, practicing the virtue of patience in our day to day activities cheerfully.

Have a joyous week ahead!
